In difficult times, having a few extra funds on hand will serve as a safety net. Fortunately, there are several simple tactics accessible these days to assist you in growing your business.
   Obtaining extra degrees or certifications can help you earn more money in your current career. Look for part-time work you can do on weekends or after your normal 9-to-5. The number of side hustles you can conduct to supplement your income is nearly limitless.

2. Subscriptions to cable and the internet should be adjusted.
   Cable and internet can suck up a significant chunk of your income. Contacting your service providers directly and requesting a price reduction is one approach to save money. Because they want to keep your business, many of them will be willing to listen to you. Especially if you come across as a disgruntled customer.
   There are also rental houses that provide inhabitants with free Wi-Fi. You can also access the internet or watch TV in the communal spaces of your building. Unless you spend a lot of time on the internet or watching TV.

3.  Make a financial plan.
   A budget is similar to a road map in that it will help you reach your financial goals more quickly. The goal is to develop a simple budget that focuses on having a better life rather than a strict budget that excludes any fun from your life.
   The first step in budgeting is to make a list of your financial goals. Then, cut any expenses that aren't assisting you in meeting your objectives. Keep track of your expenditures and eliminate any unnecessary expenses.
   You can utilize one of the many personal finance software tools available. They can assist you in creating and adhering to a budget.

4. Maximize the Use of Your Living Space
   Rent might be split with a roommate.
   If you're a single person, sharing a room and splitting the rent may help you save even more money. This can help you save a significant amount of money, particularly if you live in a large city with high living and rental prices.
   A variety of online services are available to assist you in finding acceptable roommates. Learn what it takes to successfully cohabitate with a stranger.

5. Spend less money on utilities.
   As a tenant, keeping a careful eye on your electricity costs is a simple way to save money. When you leave the house, simply turn off the lights, furnace, and any other appliances. Replace incandescent lightbulbs with LED lightbulbs when they burn out to save money on electricity.
   To save water, take a 4-5 minute shower and don't leave the faucet running while brushing your teeth or shaving. To keep your flat warm in the winter, use sweaters and blankets instead of spending too much money on power bills. You will not only save money, but you will also be helping to safeguard the environment.

Get ready Wheeling, because Santa is on his way! He will be traveling down different roads every night next week, and you can watch from the comfort of your home as he travels through your neighborhood. He won’t be delivering all the best gifts until Christmas night, but you can see him before he does!

Santa will be sleighing his way through Wheeling between 6:00 and 8:30 PM on the following evenings:

This Thanksgiving, the Wheeling Park District will be having a Community Thanksgiving Feast for the residents of Wheeling. This is a free event and is open for registration, so check it out below and enjoy a meal on us! If you know anyone in need, please send them to the link!

The Wheeling Park District Board of Commissioners invites residents to enjoy a free, traditional, Thanksgiving-style “to-go” meal on Sunday, November 21. Preregistration is required for all members of the family who wish to receive a meal (max 5 members per household).

Registration can be done online, by phone (847-465-3333) or in person at the Community Recreation Center by November 17, 7:00 pm. There will be four pickup times to choose from at the time of registration. Registration is limited to 500 Wheeling Park District Residents, on a first-come-first-served basis.

1:15 pm – 1:45 pm

Meal Pick Up Procedures

Drive up to the Grand Ballroom entrance of Chevy Chase Country Club on Sunday, November 21 (Do not get out of your car) during your designated pickup time. Please follow all directional road signage. A staff member will approach your car, confirm your registration, and hand out your thanksgiving meal!

• We heard our residents and we’re changing the volleyball league schedule. Instead of having it every other Thursday at 5:30 pm, we will now offer the volleyball league every Thursday at 5:30 pm starting in July. Come watch these awesome matches on the volleyball court!

• Catch our latest episode of Cooking With Foxboro featuring Jorge and one his favorite recipes. Post your pictures of you trying out the recipes and tag them with #cookingwithfoxboro. The next episode drops on Friday, July 16, 2021, on our Facebook page.

• $5 Pizza Pickup Thursdays with our awesome VIP CITY KEY partners at Papa John’s in Prospect Heights has been moved to once a month for the summer. Make sure to mark your calendars for July 29, 2021.
